Don’t let the “grumblings” part of the name of this blog fool you! We (Grumpy Glenn and Judy) are thrilled to be part of the Buy Local and Eat Local movement! As former city dwellers who are now vendors with our business Galena Dips & Gifts participating in several Tri-State area Farmers’ Markets, we feel blessed and enlightened. It is our desire to share the delights of being a part of this local community and pass on what we learn, including: relevant news; marketing tips and tricks for our vendor friends; tidbits on local farmers and farm stands; highlights of farmers’ market vendor for the public; and highlights of local crafters and artisans. When we find or develop a great recipe using local seasonal ingredients, we plan to pass that on also. We look forward to your feedback and commentary so that we can all share the wonders of what our area has to offer.

We created this blog to spread the word about Eating and Buying Local. To accomplish this we invite all Tri-State Area vendors, farm stand owners, crafters and artisans to educate us on their businesses. Feel free to comment and add additional information on any and all posts! In addition, we welcome guest blog contributors and would love to post links to your website or Directory Page (such as in LocalHarvest.org) so that you can get the publicity you deserve! Please let us know if you are interested in sending us stories on your business, recipes, upcoming events, or just about anything relevant to Eating or Buying Local. If you’d like to contribute regularly, that would be wonderful! The more the merrier!

This blog has also been created for the Tri-State area Eating/Buying Local aficionado. We hope you too will comment on future topics, share the local “gems” you have found, and provide recipes and any other relevant information you come across.

    I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
